Endothelial Health!

Endothelial Health Webinar

According to ABC News, 45% of the American adult population is at significant risk for heart and cardiovascular disease.  This is at an all time high and it centers on three major areas:  High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol Concerns, and Diabetes

Staggering numbers that also offer great hope when you understand that there is one common factor to all of these diseases.  That common factor is your cardiovascular system.  While most people concentrate on your heart as the central focus of cardiovascular health, I’m here to tell you that there is another organ that is equally important, and some believe even more important, than your heart.

 The Importance of Endothelial Health!

Unfortunately, most people have never heard of this organ.  Yet the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to three American researchers who discovered how this organ produces a gas that actually regulates your entire cardiovascular system.  The organ is called the Endothelium and the gas is Nitric Oxide – the master signaling molecule of your entire cardiovascular system.  This health information webinar will teach you how to effectively nourish your endothelium for proper nitric oxide production, which has the potential to significantly improve cardiovascular health.

Endothelial Health Is Key To Good Health!

You must learn how to properly nourish your endothelium – the largest secreting organ in your entire body – if you want to improve your cardiovascular health and overall wellness.  Watch the above YouTube video to learn how and why!  Over the next couple of days I’ll be posting additional webinars showing you specifically how endothelial health affects high blood pressure, cholesterol concerns, and diabetes.  Even cognitive function is effected by endothelial health.

Together we can work to save a million lives!

Alzheimer’s and Cardiovascular Disease Part 2!

Alzheimer's and Cardiovascular DiseaseAs we’ve seen from the previous post, there is a natural connection between Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease. In your skull is a 3 pound wonder that has 100 billion neurons sending each other electrical and chemical signals in an orchestrated pattern that creates memories and allows for learning.

Each nerve cell communicates with many other neurons to form networks. These networks of neurons have special jobs. Some help us to see, hear, and breathe. Other networks are involved in thinking, learning, and remembering. To keep everything running requires large amounts of nutrients and oxygen.

It’s your cardiovascular system that will deliver the needed resources for brain function. If your circulation is compromised then you will compromise brain function. Maybe you’ve experienced first hand the emotional and financial costs of being a caregiver to a loved one who has Alzheimer’s or any other form of dementia. Although there are no current cures for Alzheimer’s, there are steps you can take to prevent this dreaded disease.

How to Prevent Alzheimer’s and Cardiovascular Disease Naturally!

In our previous post we examined how folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, and beta carotene can significantly reduce your risks. In this video we’re going to look at Iron and the Mediterranean diet as part of the mix. Our goal is to give you a game plan for the prevention of Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease since they are strongly related.

We’re also going to examine how cholesterol, diabetes, and aerobic exercise play a role in your cognitive health. After these videos were produced, we received the Health & Nutrition Letter Volume 10G from Tufts University. Their lead article was “Eat Like a Mediterranean to Protect Your Aging Brain.” The following two quotes will reinforce the information you are about to learn in this next video:

In an updated analysis of that earlier study of 1,880 older New Yorkers, those who most closely followed a Mediterranean-style diet were at 40% lower risk of Alzheimer’s over 5.4 years than those with lowest adherence.”

The new analysis also looked at physical activity, finding that participants with the highest level of activity were at 33% lower risk of Alzheimer’s than the least-active subjects. . . that the association of physical activity with Alzheimer’s disease risk was independent to that of the diet.”

This video will also introduce you to an organ in your cardiovascular system

that makes all the difference in the prevention of Alzheimer’s

and cardiovascular disease since they are strongly related:

Alzheimer’s and Cardiovascular Disease Part 1!

Alzheimer's and Cardiovascular Disease

The connection between Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease is real. Learning about this connection also becomes the key to preventing both of these diseases.

The educational videos on this page (and in my next post) will help you understand this connection and provide you with a game plan for prevention!

It’s normal to experience a loss of memory with age. What’s not normal is for this loss of memory to become so dysfunctional that it leads to dementia diseases like Alzheimer’s. Because of this Alzheimer’s has become the number one fear of the Baby Boomer population. That fear centers on experiencing the emotional, physical, and financial devastation of seeing a loved one suffer from this dreaded disease.

Here’s the good news:

There are steps you can take to prevent this sad reality for yourself and your loved ones!

These educational videos will help you develop a simple but highly effective game plan for prevention. You really do have the power to make choices that will enhance your health and lower your risk.

You Can Prevent Alzheimer’s and Cardiovascular Disease Naturally!

FACT: One out of five people (20%) over 65 and 50% of people over age 85 are afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease. Approximately 5.2 million Americans and 26.6 million people worldwide currently suffer with this disease. Sources: U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Alzheimer’s Association.

The other sad reality is that there is currently no known cure for Alzheimer’s. Once you have it it’s a progressively disabling disease that will result in death.

Pretty depressing until you understand the following:

The Cure Lies in Prevention!

That’s right. You have the power to make a significant difference in how this disease affects you, as well as the people around you. There is enough research and clinical data to positively demonstrate that if you properly care for your cardiovascular system you will substantially reduce your risk for Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease.

Our first educational video helps set the stage:

High Altitude Training!

High Altitude Training

High Altitude Training for Mountain Biking

My friend Bert Middleton asked me to produce a series of videos on high altitude training specific to cardiovascular health and function. Why? Because he’s always looking for ways to improve his legs and lungs to get the most out of his mountain biking and powder skiing.

What I share in these videos also applies to every person because at the heart of all activity is your cardiovascular system. Foundational to your cardiovascular system is your endothelium. This one-celled organ lines all of your heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins. It ultimately determines the health of your entire circulation and plays a critical role in your overall health and wellness.

Blood circulation and oxygenation is key to high altitude training. Bert is 52 and has seen a remarkable improvement in his high altitude sports. In his own words,

This blue powder has made a major impact on accelerating my recovery time so that I can mountain bike day after day without the fatigue that I used to experience. I can charge a lot harder and a lot longer before I come to the end of my strength and stamina on my mountain bike.”

Bert is also seeing that this directly applies to his powder skiing now that the ski season has opened in the mountains of Colorado. If you’re looking to maximize your performance and recovery in mountain biking, snow skiing, or any type of high altitude sport, then watch and listen to these three videos.

The One Critical Organ That Makes ALL the Difference in High Altitude Training!

Most high altitude athletes concentrate on improving their heart and lung function. While these two organs are important, there is another organ that most never even consider in their training program. Yet, this one critical organ can make ALL the difference in your high altitude training. This organ is your endothelium!

By properly repairing and nourishing this organ you can experience major improvements in your circulation resulting in:

18 times more energy with less lactic acid production for quicker recovery!

Interested?

Then watch this video to learn how critical your endothelium is to high altitude training:

Learn How Nitric Oxide Maximizes Your High Altitude Training, Performance, and Recovery!

As we shared in the previous video, your endothelial cells produce nitric oxide – the master signaling molecule of your entire cardiovascular system. This has a major impact on improving circulation and the ability of your blood stream to deliver needed oxygen and nutrients.

Foundational to every high altitude training program is your ability to fuel muscle tissue with the oxygen and nutrients needed to sustain your efforts.

In this next video we’ll discuss how nitric oxide maximizes cardiovascular function to deliver needed oxygen for significant energy production while limiting the negative effects of lactic acid. This enhances your performance and recovery in high altitude training:

The Daily Consumption of These Two Amino Acids Makes a Significant Difference in High Altitude Training!

As you learned from the above video, your endothelium is critical to cardiovascular health. While your heart is important, it’s your endothelial cells and their ability to produce nitric oxide that truly controls the health of your cardiovascular system.

In this next video, we’ll discuss the two natural amino acids that must be part of your daily diet. Both are important, but when properly taken together they make a significant difference in your high altitude training, performance, and recovery:

Can a Clinically Proven Product Significantly Impact Your High Altitude Training?

I believe it can. Just as ProArgi 9 Plus has benefited the cardiovascular system of thousands of patients who have cardiovascular challenges, it can also benefit the cardiovascular system of high altitude athletes. The repair and nourishment of your endothelial cells to help them properly produce nitric oxide will improve circulation. Improved circulation results in your body’s ability to work at a much higher aerobic base to create more energy for all types of high altitude training programs.

Additionally, you will experience less lactic acid production, which is detrimental to all high altitude sports.

Just as Bert Middleton found, this powerful blue powder called ProArgi 9 Plus can be used to enhance your high altitude training, performance, and recovery. It will also become a key factor in improving your overall health.

As I said in the beginning, if you apply the information shared in these videos, then I guarantee you’re going to see significant improvements in all phases of your high altitude training. You’re going to experience:

  • Accelerated Recovery Times!
  • Greater Strength and Stamina!
  • Greater Lung Function and Oxygen Delivery!
  • Significantly More Energy Production!
  • Reduced Lactic Acid Formation!

I firmly believe the product ProArgi 9 Plus, formulated by Dr. J. Joseph Prendergast, could be a real benefit to you. It’s why I’ve chosen to endorse this product and offer it to those who want to make a significant difference in their high attitude training.

If you would like to try ProArgi 9 Plus, with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, then please Click Here!

Together, we can help you see significant improvements in your high altitude training, performance, and recovery so that you can maximize your investment in your high altitude sport.

Complications of Diabetes – Part 1

Complications of Diabetes

Complications of Diabetes

Diabetes has grown to epidemic proportions. With this increase has come an increase in the complications of diabetes. Most of these complications center on poor cardiovascular health.

According to the June 26th issue of The Lancet, diabetes appears to double the risk of dying from a heart attack, stroke, or other heart conditions.

These series of videos will help you understand that it doesn’t have to be this way! Listen to this first video as I set the stage on helping you control the complications of diabetes.

The Complications of Diabetes Can be Dramatically Improved When You Understand This Approach!

It’s estimated that 23.5 million American adults have either Type I or Type II diabetes. High blood sugar causes damage to your cardiovascular system resulting in the complications of diabetes. These complications include poor circulation, poor kidney function, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and the increased potential for strokes and heart attacks. All are life threatening.

It doesn’t have to be this way and this video will help you begin to understand a natural approach pioneered by Dr. J. Joseph Prendergast. This approach has resulted in no strokes, no heart attacks, and less than 1% hospital admissions for cardiovascular issues in over 7,000 patients. What’s even more amazing is that 80% of these patients are diabetics. This video will introduce you to this approach:

To Reduce the Complications of Diabetes You Must Pay Attention to This Organ!

Most people think that you must concentrate on your heart if you want to reduce the complications of diabetes. While your heart is critically important to your health, it’s not the key organ. The key organ that you must properly nourish and repair is your endothelium.

Most people have never heart of the endothelium yet this organ ultimately controls all of your cardiovascular system. It’s so important that the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine was award to three American researchers who discovered how this one-celled thick organ produces the master signaling molecule of your entire cardiovascular system. This video will help you better understand this critical organ:

Two Amino Acids are Key to Reducing the Complications of Diabetes!

Before we can discuss nitric oxide we need to look at the two natural amino acids that your body needs on a daily basis. These two amino acids are L-arginine and L-citrulline. One is fairly common and one is not.

When properly repaired and nourished, your endothelial cells will convert these two amino acids into nitric oxide to help prevent the complications of diabetes. It’s important to note that by combining these two amino acids together you create a synergistic effect. This video will help you understand this process and which foods are good sources for these daily nutrients:

We’ll continue this video series on reducing the complications of diabetes in my next article. We will talk about how nitric oxide specifically addresses several health issues common to diabetics. One of the videos will examine the hidden enemy in your bloodstream that can cause additional problems for diabetes. I’ll show you a natural way to overcome this hidden enemy. Plus, we’ll look at a natural product that can make a huge difference in reducing the complications of diabetes.

Food versus Supplementation for L-Arginine and L-Citrulline!

In my last post I showed you the amount of food you would need to consume to take in 5 grams of L-arginine, 1 gram of L-citrulline, and 400 micrograms of folic acid. Three key nutrients for cardiovascular health.

I’m using these quantities because most research shows that to receive a therapeutic benefit you would need to consume these amounts. L-arginine and L-citrulline are necessary for improved nitric oxide production. Folic acid is needed for proper red blood cell production and heart health. When people realize all the food they need to eat, and the limited menu they have to choose from, they begin to ask the question:

Is it better to get L-Arginine and

L-Citrulline through food or supplementation?

This video answers that question. Enjoy it and I’ll have some observations to make after you watch it:

Observation 1 – As you saw from the video there is a strong case for proper supplementation especially when you factor in calories, cost, and convenience. The cheapest meal you could consume was 12 ounces of black beans, 2.7 pounds of watermelon and 1 cup of Total cereal at a cost of $4.45. This meal would also bring 813 calories into your body.

Observation 2 – Instead of conventional food you had two other choices. Your first choice would be to go to your local health food store and purchase three supplements: L-Arginine, L-Citrulline and Folic Acid. While this is the least expensive way at $1.86 it also means taking 13 capsules per day. You would need to take 1 Folic Acid tablet, 2 L-Citrulline capsules, and 10 L-Arginine capsules.

Just remember, if you choose supplementation then make sure that you only use the natural “L” form of the amino acid and never the “D” or synthetic form. Additionally, make sure that the product uses “pharmaceutical grade” ingredients. This ensures that the ingredients meet exacting standards so that product quality and consistency is maintained from batch to batch. This is especially important for L-arginine products.

There are a lot of “nitric oxide” products in the marketplace. They are widely used by weight lifters to help them experience improved workouts and increased muscle mass. But, “nitric oxide” products are not to be played around with. It’s extremely important to know who the product formulator is and what experience they have in properly isolating L-arginine so that it can be effectively brought into your system.

It’s also important to know if the product you’re considering has any clinical studies associated with it. Clinical studies that can support its effectiveness in truly improving the health of your endothelial cells so that they can properly produce higher levels of nitric oxide.

Observation 3 – As you know I’m a firm believer in ProArgi-9 Plus. It’s your other choice. While it’s slightly more than the supplements, it does provide you with 9 additional ingredients all designed to help improve cardiovascular health. When compared to the food choices, it is $2.00 cheaper and significantly lower in calories. This allows me to properly support my cardiovascular system, especially my endothelial cells. It also allows me more flexibility in my diet for other healthy organic foods. While there are a handful of other good products in the marketplace, none have the clinical studies to support their effectiveness like ProArgi-9 Plus.

Observation 4 – I made a pitch for eating organic foods at the end of the video. While organic foods are certainly higher in cost than the store bought brands it’s worth the extra expense in helping improve liver function. As I shared in the video, every added chemical ingredient has to be processed by your liver, which takes away its ability to help your body in other needed areas. If you want to have your eyes opened to the food industry and how they manufacturer our food sources, then rent the DVD Food Inc. from your favorite rental source.

Well, I hope this video and post has been educational and beneficial in helping you see proper supplementation as a complement to making good food choices.

What Foods Contain L-Arginine and L-Citrulline?

I’ve written many articles about the need for L-arginine and L-citrulline. How critical they are for nitric oxide production. How your endothelial cells use these two amino acids to create nitric oxide, the master signaling molecule of your cardiovascular system.

Quite frankly, you could not live without nitric oxide. It’s a critical molecule in many biological functions but especially for good cardiovascular health. So, I’m often asked:

What foods can I eat that contain L-arginine and L-citrulline?

To answer that question I went shopping, bought some foods and put together the following video. Enjoy the video and I’ll have some observations to make after you watch it:

In preparing this video I came across an excellent chart that lists food sources high in the amino acid L-arginine. I’ll provide you a link to this chart at the end of this article. It was an eye opener, even for me. It changed my thinking on dairy products and it even helped me to discover the reason why Rocky Balboa was able to beat Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies. Let’s start with some observations.

Observation 1Plant based foods are a better source of L-arginine then animal products.

The chart I found lists the L-arginine content in 100 grams of food. 100 grams is just slightly less than a ¼ pound. You’ll note that if you wanted to get 1 gram of L-arginine or more in your diet, there are 15 choices for plant products but only 5 choices for animal products.

Observation 2 – Much of the literature recommends dairy products as a good source of L-arginine yet it’s listed last on the chart.

You would have to drink 44 ounces or just slightly less than 1 ½ quarts of milk to get 1 gram of L-arginine. Not good for those who are lactose intolerant.

Observation 3 – Most research indicates that for you to receive a therapeutic benefit from L-arginine you need to consume at least 5 grams of this amino acid at one time. So I selected 6 food items from the list that I thought would be common food choices. I did the math conversations to look at how much food you would need to eat to take in 5 grams of L-arginine. I also looked at the number of calories and grams of fat it would bring into your body. Here’s what I discovered and what I based most of the above video on:

Peanuts – 6 oz / .36 lb = 918 calories and 70 g of fat

Beans – 12 oz / .75 lb = 338 calories and 1.5 g of fat

Tuna – 10 oz / .63 lb = 528 calories and 18 g of fat

Chicken Breast – 15 oz / .92 lb = 756 calories and 5 g of fat

Salmon – 15 oz / .92 lb = 865 calories and 42 g of fat

Eggs (Whole, Raw) – 21 oz / 1.34 lbs = 915 calories and 55 g of fat

Observation 4 – Now you can see why weight lifters choose beans, tuna, and chicken breasts as their primary source of protein. It provides them with the proper amount of L-arginine with the least number of calories and grams of fat. Even though peanuts have a higher concentration of L-arginine when you factor in calories and grams of fat it’s not the first choice if you need to watch you weight.

How Rocky Balboa Beat Apollo Creed!

Observation 5 – This is the Rocky Balboa observation. Go back and watch the first movie and compare Rocky’s diet to Apollo Creed’s. Remember the scene where Rocky cracks open about a half dozen eggs into a glass and then drinks them raw, yoke and all. Whether he realized it or not (and I’m sure he and Sylvester Stallone didn’t) he was loading his body with L-arginine to improve his blood flow. This maximized his workout program and improved his cardiovascular stamina.

Observation 6 – There is not much of a choice in foods for L-citrulline. Watermelon is your one and only good food choice. You can read my article, “The Need for L-Citrulline!” to get more information on this subject.

When people realize all the food they need to eat, and the limited menu they have to choose from, they begin to ask the question:

Is it better to get these critical amino acids through food or supplementation?

Well, I’m putting the finishing touches on this video and will have it posted in a couple of days.

High Desert Heart Institute – Angelo Cici Interview!

High Desert Heart InstituteThe High Desert Heart Institute Study was conducted in July of 2009. This study was the most comprehensive human clinical trial ever conducted on a nutritional supplement. This study included 33 high risk congestive heart failure patients.

Prior to the start of the study 60% of them were on a heart transplant list. All participants were pharmacologically and medically managed to the maximum. Each participant was given 2 scoops of ProArgi-9 Plus in the morning and 2 scoops in the evening for 90 days. ProArgi-9 Plus incorporates an integrative L-arginine / L-citrulline combination with other heart healthy ingredients. It is designed to help the endothelial cells that line all of your cardiovascular system function optimally so that they can properly produce nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is the master signaling molecule of the cardiovascular system.

The Outcome of The High Desert Heart Institute Study was “Remarkable!”

All patients were removed from the heart transplant list. All patients were able to eliminate or greatly reduce the drugs they were taking. All patients were able to recover normal lives.

One of those patients is Angelo Cici. Prior to the start of this study Angelo experienced renal failure, congestive heart failure and a pacemaker failure all at the same time. Life saving surgery kept Angelo alive. After being released from the hospital, Angelo continued to relapse and need medical attention. Usually after 4 to 5 days at home he would end up with a medical challenge that required Angelo to go back to the hospital. This pattern kept repeating itself over and over and over again.

Not wanting to be a burden to his wife, and not wanting to exhaust their life savings on medical expenses, Angelo made the difficult decision to pull out all of the IVs and go home to die. It was at this point that Angelo was invited into a clinical study that had just been started at the High Desert Heart Institute.

It’s with great honor and pleasure that I’m able to bring you an extensive video interview with Angelo Cici. This interview was conducted by John Hewlett of the ComoCardio Institute. It’s a fascinating look at how a man’s life was not just saved but returned to a vibrant and healthy life. Enjoy the 2-part video and I’ll have some short comments to make after you’ve watched it.

Angelo Cici Interview – Part 2

There are a couple of comments I’d like to make:

  • The data collected for this study is being prepared for publication. This data and the results seen in this study will have a significant impact on how treatment programs are viewed for a wide range of cardiovascular issues. But the most significant part of this groundbreaking study is the impact it had on the health and wellness of its participants. Angelo feels his life was not just saved but given a level wellness and passion that he had not seen for a very long time.
  • During the video interview it was mentioned that there were 35 participants for this study. In most of the written literature you will see 33 participants. Originally, the study started with 35 participants but two dropped out. One because they received a heart transplant and the other because they could not be compliant with the study’s protocols.
  • John Hewlett and Angelo Cici are very passionate about what ProArgi-9 Plus has done for them personally. I absolutely believe in this product and have witnessed its amazing ability to improve the cardiovascular health of people. With that said we are not doctors and we would never want to replace your physician or doctor. Instead, we want to work with you and your health care provider to make sure this is right for you. If you or your health care provider have any questions, then please email me or call me. My contact information is:

  • I will do my best to provide you and your health care provider with the information you need to make the best decision for you. Our goal is to help as many people as possible see significant improvements in their cardiovascular system so that they can enjoy a higher quality of life.
  • Because of the ten-minute time limitation for YouTube videos I had to trim a small portion of the video out and divide it into 2 parts. Those wanting to see the complete interview without any editing can purchase it directly from the ComoCardio Institute. The original DVD also includes a segment with Angelo’s medical assistants. For those wanting more information about this study please click on High Desert Heart Institute! Dr. Siva Arunasalam, the Founder and Director of the High Desert Heart Institute, also gave a recent video interview with John Hewlett. You can see that interview by clicking on Dr. Siva Interview!
