During the early part of 2009 a landmark, 90-day, human clinical trial was done at one of the most prestigious heart institutes in the United States.  It was conducted at the High Desert Heart Institute located in Victorville, California.  The participants were patients who were in the Congestive Heart Failure Unit.

The study was designed by Dan Austin who manages the Congestive Heart Failure Unit.  It was completely funded by the High Desert Heart Institute under the direction and supervision of Dr. Siva Arunasalam, who is the Founder and Director of this institute.

Because this study is being analyzed and prepared for publication I want to be extremely careful in what I say.  The following 26 minute interview of Dr. Siva and Dan Austin was conducted by Dan SwinDell.  It is a remarkable interview especially when you consider the potential impact the results of this clinical trial could have on heart disease:

This was a well designed study that included a series of objective markers and criteria.  I’d like to highlight Dr. Siva’s parting comments:

“. . . but what we ended up seeing was remarkable positive remodeling of the heart, positive pulmonary artery changes, pulmonary vascular changes in terms of pulmonary pressures, changes in the cardiac dimensions, changes in heart muscle function. . .”
