		<description>Hi Laura,

Thanks for the questions. To help answer your question I&#039;ve posted two additional links:

http://no-more-heart-disease.com/nitric-oxide-and-cholesterol/
http://no-more-heart-disease.com/cholesterol/

In clinical studies nitric oxide helps to lower both serum and LDL cholesterol levels. The exact mechanism is not yet completely understood. However, what is understood is that nitric oxide, when in sufficient quantity, will actually repair the damage done to the endothelium by LDL (Bad) cholesterol. This is important for a couple of reason.

1. Nitric Oxide can repair existing damage to the endothelium to heal the plaque formations caused by the LDL cholesterol. This improves blood flow and prevents potential areas for blockages. And, by healing the endothelium it returns these endothelial cells back into nitric oxide producing cells.

2. Nitric Oxide can repair new damage caused by LDL cholesterol so that plaque formations do not result.

These two actions (of repairing old damage and limiting the effects of new damage) improves your overall circulation and blood flow allowing your tissues and organs to get the needed oxygen and nutrients they need for better health and wellness. Since cholesterol is needed by every cell in the body to maintain cell wall integrity, this may be the reason for the lowering of serum and LDL cholesterol levels. With better circulation more cells are able to access cholesterol properly to remove it from the blood stream and aid the cells in membrane integrity. This last part is speculation on my part but it makes complete sense.

I hope this helps and thank you for your question. If you have any additional questions then please feel free to contact me directly at 630-936-8079 or email me at dan@agingnomore.com Have a Blessed Day!
